I just bought a Pioneer XM radio GEX-INNO1 from a garage sale for 5 bucks and figured i was getting a good deal because it looked expensive. So when i got home i plugged it into my computer via USB and it couldnt recognize it. It found the device but wouldnt charge it or anything. I dont know how to get it to charge or even get found by my computer,Help me?

Does the Sony HVR Z7U have true 24p?

i know the z1u has cineframe which is bogus 24p. i have heard that the Z7U has the true 24p.

Depends on what you mean by true 24…
But yes, the 24p mode on the Z7U is what you would classify as 24p. It’s not some “cine mode”, like that found on 24p wannabes like the Z1U or Canon camcorders. However, keep in mind that the Z7U only shoots HD in 1080i. It does not have a 720p mode meaning its theoretically not a progressive scan camcorder.

However, don’t be alarmed, that doesn’t mean its’ 24p mode is a total phony…not really, at least, cuz thanks to Panasonic, (you know, those guys who sorta invented 24p in affordable camcorders) created some complex algorithm to simulate 24 fields progressive scan in interlaced video…this concept applied in the world-renowned DVX100 as well as the Z7U in question. So, it’s about as real as it gets. It does shoot 24p. If it doesn’t, then neither does the DVX100… and if that were true, a lot of heads would be spinning right about now.

720p is the only way to get 24p, as in 24frames per second. 24p in 1080i is technically 60i, but DVX-style. But the question is, can people tell the difference between the 2? Almost definately no…

If you want to cut all the confusion, get the Sony PMW-EX1. Same price as the Z7U. But the EX1 shoots full resolution HD in 1920×1080 (very few can do that), it is swithable bewteen 720p and 1080i (meaning 720p-24p 24p instead of 1080i-24p 24p). It also has larger image sensors, meaning narrower depth of field (which is cool), and it records to solid state media cards instead of tape (which is better quality, but more expensive. Also, the EX1 does not offer interchangeable lenses…the more expensive EX3 does however.

So, if you want 720p-24p, get the EX1. Otherwise, get the Z7U. But, honestly, who cares?

But first delete the profile on the ps3 bc it says that it will do two things but it will go with the ps3 if it turns on, so delete the profile in audio accessories menu if I am not mistaken. If you computer doesn’t have bluetooth you need a usb dongle that supports bluetooth. Then it should be pretty easy bc it depends what computer you using but it should be pretty straight forward. But make sure you have those two things 1 delete the profile on ps3 2 make sure your computer got bluetooth.

Navigation installation HELP in 2006 Passat!!!!?

I tried installing a Pioneer AVIC-F7010BT in my wifes VW Passat last night. The unit and evrything was functioning great until I realized the car was OFF!!! The unit continued to work while the car was off. The only time it would cut off is when I disconnected the wire harness. any idea what could be the cause of this? Any and all suggestions welcome!

There is something wired wrong in between the harness adaptor and the harness for the stereo. You need to really make sure that it is correctly color matched, because some companies really make it difficult tell the if it is truely a different color that you think it is. Also hit up the Passat forums to find out anything further that you really should know about. But it sounds like the constant and the 12V wires are crossed, well more like this constant from stereo wire to 12V car harness, and the 12V car harness wired to stereo constant. Getting those to mixed will leave your stereo in the state that it is in right now. On when it should be off, and off when it should be on. Could be wrong though.

Most dealers ship from Hong Kong and are very inexpensive. While you’re at it, look for package deals with 1 or 2 batteries and a charger. You’ll be surprised at how cheap they are, but the quality is usually pretty good. I got 2 batteries + AC/DC charger for my A100 for less than $30 combined. I doubt you can get a genuine OEM Sony charger for that much. The batteries last for hundreds of shots and I have never noticed a difference between the original charger or battery or the clones. I use them all interchangeably.
