Are the Sennheiser HD 448′s comfortable?
I’ve been looking for new headphones, and I have narrowed my choices down to the Sennheiser HD 448′s and the Bose Around the Ear Headphones, and the deciding factor right now is comfort. I know that the Sennheisers sound better and are built better, but I really want a comfortable headphone. I know the Bose ear-pads are nice and soft and squishy, but I would rather buy the Senns if I could. I was just wondering if anybody had the 448′s, and if the earpads are comfy.
Well, I’ve been waiting for someone that actually has the HD 448s to answer; since no one has, I will give this a shot. To answer your question directly – the review (below) states that the Sennheisers are very comfortable (as all the models that I have tried are).
I am a big, big fan of Sennheiser headphones and microphones.
I have several sets of headphones, Sennheiser and Koss mostly.
I have not ever tried the Bose – I am a big fan of their PA speakers, although I fought the conversion.
I mention microphones and speakers because the technology is very similar between them all. I used my first set of Sennheiser headphones (HD 424) as microphones – one face down on the top of my Gibson Dove acoustic guitar and the other pointed up to sing into – they did a fine job recording on a Teac 3340 multitrack R-R.
I will give you a link to the huge Cnet headphone buying guide – looking at it objectively, it seems to me like the Sennheisers are slightly better than the Bose, but there are a lot of other choices depending on your exact needs. (I suggest you look this guide over carefully before you buy. There are lists on the front page of the buying guide comparing different models, for different uses). Both the Bose and the 448s apparently get uncomfortably warm after hours of wearing (big surprise). I prefer open, or semi-open headphones (always more comfortable and you’re still in touch with your surroundings) but if you need sound isolation you need closed (like the 448s and Bose).
I suggest you look at the Sennheiser HD 485 (in particular), Koss PortaPro; Sennheiser PXC-250 & 300 (I have some PX-100s that I like, for small portable headphones); AKG K 28 NC; and especially the Grado SR60, SR80, and SR125. There will probably be others of interest to you also, like Audio-Technica, JVC, and Sony.

The price range of the above mentioned products vary between $ 14 and $ 85. The overall rating of the first two products (1& 2) is excellent. The sl no 3 to 8 is rated above very good cheap not excellent. The overall rating of sl no 9 & 10 is very good. A review reveals that all the flash devices are Hi-Speed USB 2.0 certified. Upgraded Scion Tc Presented at 2007 Chicago Auto Show
Scion is steadily making a name for itself with the production of great cars. This Toyota division was created to catch the attention of the younger buyers and currently, it is showing off their wares at the 2007 Chicago Auto Show.
One of the cars in their lineup that is present at the said motor show is the upgraded Scion tC. The tC coupe is the brand’s best selling car and with the refinements and upgrades that it was given, it has raised the bar for its competitors in the sports coupe segment. Among the refined aspects of the car is its safety, which has become a crucial factor that is being considered by car buyers.
The exterior of the Scion tC coupe is characterized by its Scion family front fascia which is the combination of the grille and the headlight which gives the car an aggressive look. The latest version of the tC now has an upper mesh grille, a lattice lower grille, and projector-type low-beam headlights trimmed in black. The rear taillight mirrors the headlight with round combination lamps. The interior of the coupe is also enhanced over the previous model.
The latest version of the tC sports a deep orange combination meter on the dashboard, door assist grips accented in silver. The entertainment package is also improved – the tC now employs a Pioneer subwoofer.
Aside from the subwoofer, the coupe is now compatible with Apple iPods. The feature is present on all Scion cars for the 2008 year model. The car’s 160-watt Pioneer AM/FM/CD audio system comes with a head unit with iPod controls. The head unit displays the track, artist and album information from the iPod into its screen. Connecting an iPod to the audio system of the car is as simple as plugging it into a port wit the use of a connector cable. With the iPod connected to the car’s audio system, controlling the play options can be done through the head unit and the audio control integrated in the car’s steering wheel. To further enhance the audio system of the car, it comes with rear head unit output jacks that allow users to add external amplifiers to increase the output of the speakers and the subwoofer.
The entertainment refinement does not end there though. The entertainment system allows users to download “skins” that will be played on the LCD faceplate that will come with the head unit. “Skins” can be downloaded from Pioneer’s website, these can either be images or four-second video clips or eight-second movies. Consumers can also burn their images or videos onto a CD and upload them onto the head unit.
The entertainment and comfort that the new tC offers also comes with reliable safety features like a complete lineup of airbags that covers all the part of the car’s interior including a driver’s knee airbag. The coupe also employs a tire pressure monitoring system and three-point seatbelts in all five seating positions. It also comes with a first aid kit.
The refinement that the Scion tC coupe has undergone will not be complete without a powerplant that will complement the vehicle itself. The tC will be powered by a 2.4-liter double overhead cam four-cylinder engine that is equipped with variable valve timing technology. The coupe is certified by the California Air Resources Board as an Ultra Low Emission Vehicle, thanks to the design of its exhaust system and the engine as well. The exhaust system eliminates much of the harmful gasses in the exhaust of the engine, just like a Volvo oil filter strain the engine oil circulating on a car’s cooling system.

What means when an aviation headset is TSO certified?
Hi, somebody could tell me what means when an aviation headset is TSO certified???
Can I use a non certified headset at a Boeing 737 or an Airbus???
For example Sennheiser says than their headsets are TSO certified, Bose too but lightspeed zulu not.
If you are flying that Boeing or Airbus for a Pt. 121 (airline) operation you can use the non TSO’d Headset if the aircraft is equipped with speakers and a microphone for communications.
IF so equipped (all will be) having the equipment becomes the PRIMARY means of comm so use of a non TSO headset is a moot point as far as the regulations are concerned.
The specific airline company you work for, may forbid their use, but that is a company policy, not a regulation.

Sony Str-dh510 Receiver
I need help with my home theater setup with playstation 3?
I wanna add a surround sound experience to my setup, which is a playstation 3 connected to a tv with a hdmi cable. I really like the STR-DH510 receiver from Sony. My problem is that i don’t know which type of speakers i’m supposed to get(this is my first setup) for the receiver. I want to be able to have 5.1 surround sound in games and movies. I will be connecting the Ps3 to the receiver through HDMI and the tv to the receiver through HDMI. And it’d like to stay under $150. Can anyone help me and give me suggestions? I really would really appreciate it.
I have the x-540 system. Any way i can use those speakers (minus the subwoofer) and just buy the subwoofer separately?
I understand your budget,.. but you really, really don’t want to get speakers that cheap. It is nearly impossible to get 5 speakers + a sub for under $150.00 that sounds even remotely good.
I would save your money, and the cheapest I would go is the Klipsch HD 300 system. Their 500 system would be even better, but the 300 version is the lowest 5.1 model available and would suit your need wonderfully. That would run you $300-400, but would be VERY much worth the wait and money.
Think about it,.. you are purchasing 6 speakers here,..
The best product for your budget that would put out sound would be the Yamaha – NS-SP1800 series.
